About Academy Galleries
The Academy Galleries in the historic Wharf Offices building at 1 Queens Wharf were opened in February 2000 by the Governor-General His Excellency The Rt Hon Sir Michael Hardie Boys.

Designed by Herriot+Melluish, the award-winning galleries are spacious and well lit, creating versatile spaces for exhibitions and functions. The gallery shop sells original works by New Zealand artists.

Exhibitions change regularly and after hours the galleries are often used to host corporate or special events among the art.
