In this second instalment of an evolving theatrical lecture series, Pōneke artist/writer Jo Randerson shares six ways that creative frameworks can re-shape our world at this urgent, uncertain moment in history.

Secret Art Powers is a creative non-fiction project presented in partnership the New Zealand Festival of the Arts, culminating in a book due for publication in 2022.

Jo Randerson ONZM is a playwright, short story writer, poet, performer and director. Winner of the Bruce Mason Playwrighting Award, the Robert Burns Fellowship and a New Generation Arts Laureate, Jo is the Artistic Director of arts company Barbarian Productions. She creates work that focusses on radical and fun ways of bringing people together to discuss issues where there is tension.

Jo will be joined for this instalment by special guest comedian James Nokise. The 2019 winner of the Fred Dagg Comedy Awards and a previous winner of Best Male Comedian at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards, James is also known for his Radio NZ podcast Eating Fried Chicken in the Shower.
